SAFETY COUNCIL

The Darke County Safety Council is co-sponsored by the Darke County Chamber of Commerce and the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Division of Safety and Hygiene. Thousands of Ohio employers find value and worker’s compensation premium savings by actively participating in their local safety councils and you can join them! To earn safety council rebate, employers must meet rebate eligibility requirements in one of 80 BWC-sponsored safety councils.

Join your local safety council by July 31st of each year, attend 10 safety council meetings or BWC sponsored events to be eligible for potential rebates.

Membership in the Darke County Safety Council will enable a business to take advantage of savings by eliminating or reducing workplace injuries and illnesses. Membership is open to all companies in Ohio regardless of Chamber membership status. Companies must have a BWC policy number and have active BWC coverage status. There is a $120.00 annual membership fee that covers the cost for lunch for one member for the year.

Membership meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. (with a few exceptions) at the Birchwood Training Center on Jaysville-St. John Road. The meetings include a lunch buffet and a safety related topic and speaker.
